Artificial intelligence is no longer only for large companies. Here is how a Kuje business can begin using it sensibly.

Artificial intelligence tools that write, summarise, translate, analyse and answer questions are now widely available, many of them free or low-cost and usable from a phone. For a small business, the question is not whether AI matters but where it can save time and money first.
Start with everyday tasks. AI assistants can draft customer messages, product descriptions and proposals, summarise long documents and help plan a week’s work. Treat the output as a first draft: check facts, figures and tone before anything goes to a customer.
Use it to understand your numbers. With a simple spreadsheet of sales or costs, AI tools can help spot trends, such as best-selling products or slow months, and suggest questions worth asking.
Improve customer service carefully. AI can help you answer common questions faster, but customers still value a real person for complaints and complex requests. Be open with customers about when they are dealing with an automated tool.
Protect your data and your customers’. Do not paste confidential business information or customers’ personal data into tools you do not control, and make sure your use of data complies with Nigerian data protection law.
Build skills across your team. The businesses that benefit most from AI are those whose people understand both its strengths and its limits. AI skills and literacy are a focus theme for the chamber’s capacity development programmes.
